The press conference of Grand Royal Challenge Cup that will hold in December celebrated in 'Ball Room of Traders Hotel, Yangon on Nov,25,2006.

Firstly, Sports Minister, Myanmar Olympic Committee President, Brig-Gen Thura Aye Myint gave the opening speech. He said that the purposes of holding in Mandalay are that the youth in Upper Myanmar will improve the technical , the plans to make the tournament in Yangon and Mandalay will be made. This tournament is just Asean Football Championship renamed former Tiger Cup and is just friendly-matches before Beijing Olympic's qualify on Feb 7,2007.

And then, Myanmar Football Federation President U Zaw Zaw introduced about the invited teams Although he invited Singapore, Thailand and Laos, as they have the tight schedules, Malaysia and Indonesia could be invited. The reasons of being 2 teams of Myanmar are to get the experiences for Beijing Olympic and AFC Tournaments.

After that, Managing Director of International Beverages Trading Co.Ltd (IBTC) explained about this tournament's purposes.

MFF General Secretary U Banny Tin Aung said that the competing teams will reach on Dec 15, they stay at Hotel Mandalay, the press conference with team will make on Dec  16 in Hotel Mandalay, and the fees for one match are 4000ks for special and 2000ks for normal.

Then, U Zaw Zaw and U Aung Moe Kyaw made the responses to the questions of media and the others and the press ended at 11:00 AM.

Grand Royal Challenge Cup will start on Dec 17 to 23 in Ba Htoo Stadium, Mandalay. Myanmar National Team, Myanamr U-23 Team, Indonesia Team and Malaysia U-23 Team wil particioate in this tournament.
