Doha Asian Games: Qatar beat Iraq 1-0 to win gold

A second half goal from Bilal Rajab saw hosts Qatar defeating Iraq 1-0 in the all-Arab Final of the Doha Asian Games men’s football competition here at the Al Sadd Stadium on Friday.
Rajab scored the goal with a header in the 61st minute and Qatar defended their narrow lead stoutly for their first ever Asian Games soccer title.
Abdulla Majdi Siddiq's corner kick glanced off Qatari forward Hussain Yaser at the near post and the finger tips of Iraq goalkeeper Mohammed Khadum's right hand before the deflection caught Rajab on the left ear as he spun in front of the goal and trickled into the net.
The absence of Iraqi striker Yunus Mahmood through suspension affected the team badly. "His absence handicapped the team - we needed him," Iraqi player Ali Rehema said after his team failed to get a shot on goal against the hosts in the match.
